 BAKU. January 10, 2009: Yesterday, Group of activists of Musavat youth organization was detained by the police.  The members of the youth group were arrested before they managed to carry out the intended action of protest in front of the National Radio and Television Council (NRTC) of Azerbaijan. The action was planned against the decision of the NRTC on stopping the FM broadcasts  of the radio programs of radio Liberty, VOA and BBC on January 1, 2009.   Tural Abbasli, Ahad Mamedli, Agasi Shakiroglu, Emil Aliyev and Ramil Bakhish are among the detainees.  The press service of Musavat reported that the detainees were taken to the Police Office N 39 of Sabail District Police Department.  Police refused to comment on the information about the arrested Musavat members (Turan).
