BAKU. December 24, 2008: Today, while the country's Constitutional Court was considering the amendments to the constitution of Azerbaijan aimed to remove the term limits on the office of President (the court approved those changes during that session), a group of demonstrators held a picket in the center of Baku. The people participating in the rally held signs like "No to Monarchy" and "We Do Not Need a King".
They tried to advance towards the building where Constitutional Court sits, but were forcibly dispersed by the police, and several of them were arrested. Currently opposition members of Azerbaijani parliament are trying to secure the release of those demonstrators.
Below is the photo-session with pictures taken from the rally and during the police breaking up the demonstration.
