BAKU. July 3, 2010: Today, at 17:00 the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) and its allies from the Azadlig bloc, as well as Musavat party together with its allies from Union for Democracy held to unauthorized rallies in downtown Baku. Click here for video The PFPA held its activities near the Mayoral Administration of Baku, while Musavat held its activity near Cavid Square (Elmlar Akademiyasi Metro Station). Over 100 people were arrested and later released by the police. The protesters demanded that the Azerbaijani government respected the right of Azeri citizens to freedom of assembly. The protesters chanted the slogans “Freedom” and “Resignation” until the police arrested them. The opposition action of protest coincided with the time of the visit of the US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Baku. Below is the photo-session from the activity:
